nlhEnvironmental was created by Nancy Hyne in 2017. As a qualified Structural Engineer, she began her career working on a number of projects across the UK and Middle East before travelling to Australia in 2007 where she worked for Arup in Sydney.
It was during this time that Nancy worked on the environmentally conscious Darling Walk Development on Sydney’s Darling Harbour. It was her involvement in this 6 Star Green Star project which boasts a triple-generation system, simultaneously producing electricity, heating and cooling, a rainwater harvesting system and wastewater recycling facilities, where her passion for sustainability began.
Since then her passion has developed but her commitment to sustainability remains the same. Her in-depth knowledge of buildings, coupled with her belief that buildings should be enjoyed as an integral part of their surroundings and by the people who use them is at the core of her business.
A move from London to Hampshire in 2016 was the catalyst for setting up nlhEnvironmental. Nancy runs her business from Lymington in the New Forest but serves clients across the UK.

"Nancy and I worked together at Goldman Sachs for over 18 months and throughout I found her to be highly committed and knowledgeable. She was responsible for the rollout of ISO 14001 accreditations across 15 of our offices, dispersed throughout EMEA. In this role she interfaced professionally with stakeholders at all levels of both our own internal business and external supply chain. Nancy was a pleasure to work with and I have no hesitation in commending her work."Stephen Holford – EMEA Infrastructure Manager, Bloomberg LP
"Nancy and I worked very closely on the implementation of environmental management systems to ISO 14001 for a variety of FTSE100 companies during our tenure at CBRE. I have no hesitation in recommending Nancy as she is very knowledgeable in environmental issues and has the distinct advantage of also being an engineer. She is world leading in her meticulous approach to environmental projects and I wish her every success with her new business venture, which will no doubt thrive, as a result."Paul Prendergast – Environmental Manager, Coats
